Welcome to LYTCOM

We are community driven initiative in the Centurion Lyttelton Manor area and we specifically cover the
area between Botha Ave to the Waterkloof Air Force Base and Rivier Road to Trichard Ave.

Lytcom is also a member of the Lyttelton Sector 2 CPF (Community Policing Forum) and have good
working relations with the South African Police and local authorities

Whilst working closely with the Lyttelton Police Station and the private security sector, Lytcom is
in no way affiliated with them, our community provide an additional line of awareness between our
community members, with the main purpose to be more visible and alert in the area and therefore
warding off possible threat. Proactive prevention is the best cure!

All the members involved in LYTCOM initiative do so out of free will. Everyone has a day job, and as
we are a nonprofit initiative thus no one is paid for their services or involvement.

Funds collected via the Lytcom initiative is used towards the supply, upkeep and maintenance of the
equipment used by our members. Furthermore funds will be used for community initiatives in our area
be it upkeep of neglected properties to security systems to cover the entire area.

How does it work

If you reside in our area please register, there are no costs involved to be registered with LYTCOM.

The registration is so that we can add your details to our database. This will make it possible to
contact you should the need arise or confirm your employees name should we notice any suspicious
activities or even assist with your personal details for example medical conditions in a emergency.

All information remain confidential and is only to be used in the community if and when the need
arise.

When registering you can indicate whether you are willing to help with area patrols or in any other
way, once again we stress that all the service delivered by LYTCOM is on a voluntary basis and
membership and is out of free will, with the only reward knowing that our area is a safer place.

As a member you will also have the option of purchasing a two way radio. Members use the two
radios to stay in touch with everyone in our community (and neighboring communities), whether is just
have a chat or arrange something with your friend, confirm power failures water interruptions or an
emergency. Radio costs can be found in the shop section after registration.

About the Radio Network

Our radio network is ICASA approved and we have a licensed duplex frequency, this means that
radios and frequencies we use have been approved by them and cover the entire Lytcom area.
Lytcom pay an annual license fee for the radio frequency and therefore request radio members to
contribute to the expense. Currently the license fee per radio is R100 per year.

When a member purchase a radio, it is your property, Lytcom will program it so that it works on our
frequencies and should you should move you can take your radio with you and reprogram it to your
new area's initiative all we ask is that we remove the Lytcom frequencies from your unit.
